Shalom Aleichem: The World of Yiddish

  1. Thank you so much for this very interesting lecture! Yiddish has an interesting history. I knew the French have laws about language but was unaware that any other countries had done that. Fiddler on the Roof became my favorite musical long before the movie came out. In fact I was compelled to discover the writings on which it was based. I have read Shalom Aleichem’s stories many times, sadly, not in Yiddish. But I love them anyway. It was good to hear about this author after all these years.
